Office personality #3?

Two boxes of mooncake arrive today compliments from our vendors. One for each office but after lunch we found one box missing. We are feeling really odd.

So me being the kaypo (and i had a feel on who is da super fella), i contacted the usual suspect of main office. Anything missing, check with him first. My standard procedure.

The Artist's Act

http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/singaporelocalnews/view/229900/1/.html

hmmm...this is really baffling...I do question the effects of such acts.

In what manner does this promote peace? The only thing i can imagine is that the participants will get false sense of "oh i am promoting peace, i sacrifice my time to do this" and a whole lot of attention on the scene. They get publicised on News and paper.

let me guess the general reactions of street ppl who pass by. "oh they are spreading the peace message by sleeping in public for 5 days, wow admirably", they might hang around to observe abit...then walk away ultimately right?

Will this act induce any direct positive actions? I think not.

Who does not know the word peace and what it means? Most ppl do. But what they don't know is how and what we can do to participate in this context. Peace can be interpreted as an absence of war, lack of external warfare. Which directly means it is controlled by political parties isn't it? Exactly what do they hope to achieve by "spreading the peace message" to common people like us?

I would have thought collecting signature for a peace pledge to curtail U.S. support for Israel, to reduce the chances of another all-out war in the Middle East, be more meaningful and effective then this.

With no conducive actions, "Spreading the peace message" is just another fancy pastime for artists.
